misc.
1. Cherry Bomb - NCT 127
NCT 127 "Cherry Bomb" was an edgy kick in the face to the bubblegum pop K-Pop fan. With an unconventional rhythmic pattern and booming 808, the song confused many with its crazy composition. However, after listening to it a few times, you can't help but mumble "If you're happy and you know it clap your haaandds!!" under your breath. Next thing you know you've listened to the song 100 times and it's starting to become your workout song.
2. Knock Knock - TWICE
TWICE "Knock Knock" is another great example of a track that just gets better with time. Many K-Pop fans state that 'cutesy' is not their taste, and though "Knock Knock" gives an initial vibe and impression of bubblegum pop, the song grows on you!
3. Airplane Pt. 2 - BTS
BTS "Airplane Pt. 2" was a new sultry sound that wasn't necessarily understood immediately by many in the K-Pop community. Many netizens stated they didn't really listen to the song, but a few days after the album's release, these same fans turned around and said this single was their favorite off of the album. BTS always delivers when it comes to interesting tracks that make the listener think.
4. DOOM DADA - T.O.P.
T.O.P.'s 'DOOM DADA' was not understood by many upon its initial release. Not only did the song confuse people with its intense nature, the mind-boggling confusing music video made things worse. However, you realize that the more you listen to "DOOM DADA," the more you are ready for a night out!
5. Never Ever - GOT7
"Never Ever" by GOT7 is an interesting case. For whatever reason, a number of netizens have said that there was an element to the song that turned them off from liking the track, but when they went back the second time, their opinions completely changed! We're glad because we love this underrated GOT7 bop!
6. Gee - Girls' Generation
This K-Pop classic, was at one point, a really strange new sound for many overseas in the mid-2000's! In fact, many who were just exposed to K-Pop found this song to be the gateway into the fandom during this time. The ultra infectious lyricism made it so anyone could sing along, and we'd say "Gee" by Girls' Generation is one of the most iconic examples of a song that got better and better with age.
7. Chewing Gum - NCT Dream
At the first listen, many people didn't really like this song. Also, personally, I would skip it when it came up on my playlist. However, over time, that opinion has changed and it's quite a catchy song.
8. Rookie - Red Velvet
When fans first heard this song there was a mixed reaction. You either loved it or hated it. To some, the song was messy and a bit all over the place. However, over time, many people who criticized the song now think it's a bop.
