Trot singer Jang Yoon Jung's mother has been arrested for an alleged scam.
According to Wonju Police Station on June 14, Jang Yoon Jung's mother Yook (62) has been arrested for a 400 million KRW (369,515 USD) scam.
Yook reportedly borrowed 415 million KRW (383,372 USD) from an acquaintance from 2015 to 2017 but did not pay back the borrowed money as promised. The police could not find Yook at her residence in Wonju. With an arrest warrant, the police arrested Yook at Yangpyeong on June 12.
Yook claims, "I did borrow the money but it's not a scam." Currently, the investigation is ongoing.
Back in 2013, Yook sued Jang Yoon Jung and her agency. Yook and Jang Yoon Jung have been on bad terms ever since. Yook even sent her daughter a letter full of curse words at the news of her pregnancy.
