Recently, Gummy sat down with Sports Chosun to talk about her stance on pet companionship, including the personal gains and responsibility that come with raising animals.
"My dog 'Kkoomie' (literal meaning 'Dreamie') is my family as well as my driving force," said Gummy as she introduced her pet. She said she named the dog Dreamie because Gummy's dream is for the dog to be a part of her family's joy and that Dreamie consistently inspires her to maintain general hope in life.
Gummy says that because her life as a celebrity is burdensome, she can feel very lonely and exposed at times. "I think the development of SNS has had an effect on me. I'm not a person who enjoys taking photos or sharing my personal life, so there was a lot of pressure in that realm," said Gummy. She also shared that her pet has helped her overcome such loneliness, and so she considers the dog as her primary family member. Kkoomie is said to protect Gummy by guarding her against strangers as well.
