Sam Okyere thanks Koreans for apologizing on behalf of Kangnam after his insensitive remarks about Ghana

On a past broadcast of�SBS'�'My Ugly Duckling', Kangnam made insensitive remarks about Ghana to Sam Okyere. After the show aired, Kangnam was heavily criticized for his rudeness.�

During an interview with Xports�News�on December 28, Sam Okyere shared thoughts on the issue, and said, "Kangnam was just joking around but he probably had a hard time because it turned like this. I believe he could've said that because he didn't know and didn't have much interest in Ghana."

He then revealed the issue led him to love Korea even more. Sam explained, "A lot of people sent me messages. They apologized on behalf of him and said they love Ghana and have a lot of interest in the country, and think it's unfortunate (how Kangnam said that). This is why I can't help but think that I'm Korean myself. Everyone treats me as if I'm Korean and they protect and encourage me, thinking 'Sam Okyere is our people.' I could feel that so I was really excited, happy, and proud."
