Reports on December 12 stated that MBC has ultimately decided not to host an idol survival program of its own, similar to Mnet's 'Produce 101', KBS's 'The Unit', or JTBC's 'Mix Nine'.�

The broadcasting station was in the beginning stages of planning an idol survival program before the company labor union's mass general strike in September began. However, after being put on hold for the duration of the strike, staff members who recently returned to their full positions at MBC concluded that the program will not be carried through.�
