Recently, Song Joong Ki flew over to Hong Kong for '2017 MAMA'. On his way back home, the actor was captured holding an item with the print 'Baby' on it. Seeing this, Chinese media outlets claimed he has purchased a book about baby care due to his wife's pregnancy. However, it's been confirmed the controversial 'Baby' item is a gift Song Joong Ki received from a fan, and the reports by the Chinese media outlets are false.

Chinese netizens criticized the media outlet for spreading rumors and demanded they stop bothering the Song-Song couple. Korean netizens also joined the criticism, commenting, "I saw the picture and it's just a gift from a fan. They need to write reports after thoroughly checking..", "Chinese media outlets and their attention (on the Song-Song couple) is just too much. They need to keep that overwhelming attention for just the Chinese stars."
