Taewoon reveals his brother Zico opposed his participation in 'Mix Nine'

Yang Hyun Suk asked Taewoon, "What is that you want to do; a rapper or a singer?" Taewoon replied, "Well, my dongsaeng (Block B's Zico) tried to stop me (from going on this show). He said I'm not going to say anything about you participating but it can be dangerous if you go out. He also asked if I'm not getting tired of it, saying are you a carnivore who consumes anything and everything. He never said anything like that to me before. Now, I think this itself is my goal."

After his audition, Taewoon received compliments from Papa YG. Yang Hyun Suk commented, "You have improved even more since 'Show Me The Money'."

Taewoon ultimately passed and snagged a seat in the bus.
