Red Velvet was mentioned briefly by Bill Maher on the September 15 airing of his HBO show 'Real Time with Bill Maher'.

During the 'New Rules' segment near the end of the show, the host Bill Maher was criticizing the President of United States Donald Trump and started a little game of 'Would You Rather They Were President' as a joke.
He started off with "the guy who hangs around at Starbucks with his cockatoo", "the world's least convincing Superman impersonator", and then stated, "any of the members of the K-pop group Red Velvet".
Bill Maher answered 'yes' to all of them to show that he preferred any of the mentioned above than to have Donald Trump as the President.
