The reporter who initially broke the news about the celebrity couple revealed, "I believe Ryu Joon Yeol and Hyeri started dating last year. It was around in early March. They had very simple dates. Hyeri would ride in a taxi when they had dates at Ryu Joon Yeol's house.'' The reporter added, "Ryu Joon Yeol is 7 years older than Hyeri so she sometimes used honorifics when talking to him."

The show also shed light on Hyeri's past talk about her idea type. During an interview in July, Hyeri replied to a question about her ideal man, and said, "I like a manly person. I don't really care about the looks. I like someone who feels right. I don't think I consider looks that much."
Hyeri and Ryu Joon Yeol from 'Reply 1988' recently confirmed they've become lovers.
