Each month, MTV Japan selects a new outstanding rookie to be seated on the 'HOT SEAT'. Out of the numerous artists around the globe, Black Pink was chosen for the month of August, demonstrating their power in Japan even well before their official Japanese debut.

In the past, the 'HOT SEAT' title was given to�foreign artists such as pop star Ariana Grande as well as popular group Fifth Harmony. Boy band One Direction was also chosen before they arose to global stardom.�

Black Pink is looking to release their much-anticipated Japanese debut album on August 30. The girls are off to a great start as they also recently completed their Japanese debut showcase with great success by selling out all of the 14,000 seats.�
