Sulli is receiving criticism for a video of a dying eel she posted on social media.

On June 20, Sulli posted a video of a fileted eel dying on the grill to Instagram. She said in the now-deleted clip, "Save Me. Ack. Save me." The response was not good as netizens commented, "I can't believe she has a pet cat", "It's an eel, but this is cruel", "This isn't cute. It's cruel", "Are you happy?", and more.

After deleting the video due to the negative comments, the former f(x) member posted a photo of the now cooked eel with the message, "You guys don't eat eel then. Sticks tongue out."

What's your take on Sulli's post?

I have nothing against sulli nor i am a fan...and admittabily she does stirs controversy..which at times it's actually none of our matter. But as this i do hope that she will have the oppurtunity to visit one of those third world country one day ( not that i have anything against those  country but the reality is that not all world is glitz and glitters ) ,and then ..i bet she would think twice before she so called play with her food.YES..we do have culrures where we eat some dishes alive, but it's common sense that we don't play with our food out of gratefulness of having blessing to have food on the table daily

I love meat but it's not right to make fun of the animal you are gonna eat. And sulli seems to be bored out of her wits. So sad she has no real job anymore... she's pretty much dead to SM ㅋㅋ

estheram Thursday, June 22, 2017

Ugh. Looks disgusting, I wouldn't eat that shit.

kimhayoung Wednesday, June 21, 2017

I'm not a vegan, I love meat actually. But making fun of the animal who's in obvious pain right before she grills it up and eat it is actually messed up wtf. She's insane

kpoptai Wednesday, June 21, 2017

Are all these individuals utterly vegans? cause this whole thing makes no sense

sonelflee Wednesday, June 21, 2017

stupid move. She should of just posted the photo.

SuperFly_Snuka Wednesday, June 21, 2017

kill it. eat it. what's the problem. that's how life works.

intricate Wednesday, June 21, 2017

To be honest though, i found it rather disturbing she had so little respect for her food. Food that's getting killed right in front of her eyes at that..

kpoptai intricate Wednesday, June 21, 2017

whether is behind her eyes or infront it still gets killed, I don't see how that matters

intricate kpoptai Wednesday, June 21, 2017

If you've seen the vid you'd know what I mean. It may just be an eel but it had to give up its life just to feed us. If you can't appreciate that you better go eat something else, or leave the eel for someone who does know how to respect creatures that have died to feed us.

kpoptai intricate Thursday, June 22, 2017

I'm sorry but i find it rather hard to belive you pay respect to each an every item of food because there was a dead animal behind it. Like do you pay respect to candy? I personally don't find why this is seen as so dramatic. She ate the eel and she wasn't even the one killing it. If anything (also unecessary) people should get mad the the eel wasn't killed in one bit?? anyways i find all of this over reacting

intricate kpoptai Thursday, June 22, 2017

normal people don't make fun of their food. The way she behaved is enough for some to lose their appetite over. Also, simply speaking up about disagreeing with such behavior does not make a person mad or overreacting. It's just that the number of people speaking up about it is quite large. Again, because making fun of your food is just not something you do. It falls into the same category as standing up your chopsticks in your food or taking a toilet break while having dinner.

Then it's much more a cultural matter then it is about disrespecting food. If that's the matter then there are tons and tons of things that netizens should speak up about, like not speaking while eating food and what not. In my personal opinion I find it that people are searching reasons to be mad at her. She is accustomed to her own culture, I belive she has a basic understanding on things that she should or should not do, in addition one could argue whether what she did was infact playing with food considering it wasn't a physical act. But from someone who has little understanding on Korean table culture, but has experiance with 3 other table cultures, I find it overreacting

intricate kpoptai Thursday, June 22, 2017

it must be very boring where you live if merely saying something is considered overreacting. I also don't know of any table culture that does not have conversation as a major element, except in Buddhist monasteries. But in that environment behavior such as Sulli's could actually get you banned from the group, disregarding the fact they don't eat any meat at all. Anyway, respecting your food is a universal thing not bound to culture, because all people must eat.

kpoptai intricate Friday, June 23, 2017

One migh argue that we're you live people are over sensitive if they have to make a huge drama over small things like this one. In addition as I previously said, I highly doubt (universaly as well expecially when you take supermarkets and even small markets into consideration as I doubt they use each an every food item even the ones that aren't appealing to the eye and have 0 food waste as that is just as much of food disrespect as supposedly taking a picture and putting an odd caption would, EXPECIALLY because the picture isn't hurting anyone or taking anything away but throwing out food that could be eatable is a complete waste and disrespect to those that cannot infact have that food or food in general) that people respect every item of food they have or see. Vegetables are food as well and if this would have been the case of a vegetable people would have found it funny or cute, however vegetables are as much of a living organism as animals, and some studies even indicate that tomatoes might infact feel pain. So yes, I do belive is cultural, as if this wasn't an animal no one would have made such a big deal out of it. In addition the eel was already dead (I highly doubt the eel was cut open alive) making this that much more non sensical.

intricate kpoptai Saturday, June 24, 2017

you obviously didn't see the video she took.

magito intricate Sunday, June 25, 2017

Can you say/explain what was its content?

intricate magito Monday, June 26, 2017

a live eel was cut up and put on a hotplate to be grilled. While being grilled the eel was still "gasping for air" even though its body had been cut open completely and split in two. Sulli "impersonated" the eel by doing a voice over that went along the lines of saying stuff like "aaah! help me! aah! i'm dying!" etc. It would've been funny if the eel wasn't actually dying and going to be eaten by her. Instead it became somewhat stomach churning to watch.

Thanks

I am no vegan, can't say shit about this. I don't eat eel though, I hardly eat anything odd even though I'm Asian.
