On May 24, KBS put out its list of newly released songs for the week which did not pass their broadcasting inspections.

It's been revealed that FIESTAR Yezi's upcoming solo title track "Anck Su Namum" was deemed unfit for broadcast due to cursing, derogatory terms, and slang terms in its lyrics. VIXX's "Black Out" from their 4th mini album 'Shangri-La' has also been deemed unfit for expressing physical interactions between a male and female. Gummy's pre-release track "A Knowing" produced by Leessang's Gil was deemed unfit for mentions of specific brand names.

Two additional songs from LOCO's new EP 'Bleached' were also listed.
  1. Yezi
  2. VIXX
  3. Gummy

OK, I know that KBS is a family-oriented television network and all but I still would like it if they can entirely scale back on the strict censorship and focus on censoring out songs with actual problematic content, not based on brand names and such other stuff like that, so to speak.  It's always a good thing that censorship is a whole lot more relaxed in different countries all around the world, including Japan and especially the United States.  Hopefully South Korea will be relaxed with their censorship pretty soon enough, in a few years or so.

"expressing physical interaction between a male and a female" it's called sex, KBS. Grow up. Also how do they know it's between male and female? ;)

Too bad for you, KBS. You're missing on a masterpiece... (and Ravi with glasses, which is a blessing in itself <3 )

So maybe it's just me but the lyrics of Black Out don't seem that bad ? I mean, yes, it is entirely about a night of "physical interaction between a male and a female" but I expected much worse (have you even listened to Secret Night ?) XD

Hell hot enough had me shocked when I read the lyrics xD this song, not so much. It's definitely not as sexual as some of their other songs that's for sure

Thanks, I totally forgot about Hot enough (how did I even managed to do that ?) 😂 VIXX has way too many sexy songs ^^

That they do ;) I love them all the more for it

But goddamn, VIXX's Black Out dance was absolutely perfect.

StephieCassie Wednesday, May 24, 2017

Please, read the article well... It says "Black Out" FROM the 'Shangri-La' mini-album...that's why VIXX didn't perform that song on MuBank
