It was previously reported the 4-member group would be adding a member, and media outlets have now revealed the likely candidate. A 2-year trainee named Soyoung, born in 1993, is the rumored new member. As you can see below, she looks like she'd fit right in with Stellar.

Stay tuned for confirmation on whether she will be joining Hyo EunMinheeGayoung, and Jeonyul as part of Stellar!

She looks like a good fit

Why add another member when their salary distribution isn't enough for the 4 of them?

Qricket Wednesday, May 17, 2017

What? I mean, I'll support her, but Stellar already seemed complete to me.

eager_beaver Wednesday, May 17, 2017

A 2-year trainee? So since she's now 24, she's been a trainee from the age of 22?

I love them <3

caitlinnolly Wednesday, May 17, 2017

i thought they were on the brink of disbandment? and surely another mouth to feed would make it even harder?

Qricket caitlinnolly Wednesday, May 17, 2017

Makestar/Kickstarter saved them from disbandment, but still, the money they earned from that + album sales would be better for the company to put back in the group and pay the bills IMO, and not having trainees.

STELLAR -  Sting (Hanbok ver.) is the best video on YouTube. Lol

The agency may be thinking of a concept and image change for the group, with the new member it feels as if the group is starting of afresh. If the new member and new song can bring about positive change for the group, thats good for them and the agency, but i dunno if from the new member's point of view, the short career span is worth all that. i dunno her age yet, but if she is ard 23/24 which is "old" for a girl group member, she may be willing to do it, and stick ard for a 1 or 2 and move on to other careers, maybe using the group as a jump board to drama or acting. cos if she is 23/24, it would be unlikely she will debut in a new group anyway. so probably just jump into an existing one for a short while.

SOYOUNG is Age 24. And I *agree* that on that age basis for her, that this STELLAR Group opportunity is a *good* one ... Also, I think that YOUNGJI of KARA4 did *benefit* from her KARA member two years run. That YOUNGJI is *better* off for that, than she OTHERWISE would have been in K-Entertainment ; is my *guess* on it. I look at YOUNGI, and I look at SHANNON (Williams) of MBK Agency (SOLO Act). Which has more RAW TALENT --> SHANNON (my view) ... Which has more VISIBILITY in K-ENTERTAINMENT --> *YOUNGJI* (my view).

i find a lot of half-Korean celebrities have a hard time in the singing industry, While Shannon did have some "fame" in Kpop Star lately, i dun think she will be on the same level like IU, Ailee, etc in her career. and MBK seems to be delaying her comeback and than when she finally have it, people might have focused more on produce 101 season 2's 11 boys instead.

krell Winston Wednesday, May 17, 2017

Yes, I *agree* in general about your observations concerning SHANNON. The 'Western Nation Connection' (USA / EURO) seems somewhat a negative in the S.KOREAN K-pop Business (with S.K Fans). And also, to be of 'mixed heredity' (not 100% KOREAN) is that same type of *somewhat* negative situation. AILEE did overcome her 'USA Connections' problem successfully. But AILEE is '100% KOREAN heredity' that I know of it too. I should add that I do *not* find this situation surprising either. SUZY is the *preferred* member of MISS A Group. In that the other two members (JIA ; FEI) are PRChina citizens. And MIN has 'USA Connections' of some sort.

At least Ailee, or Amy Lee, has a Korean last name, for Shannon she has a Korean mother but her dad is UK i think., while i find Koreans like it when a foreigner learns their language and culture, they are less accepting when they see foreigners trying to move into their "areas of work" and even more resistance when they try to excel in those areas. like in entertainment, while there are foreigners like Sam Hammington, Sam Okeyre, and others, they are always like icing on the cake or side dishes, and never will be the Main MC of a show or even be considered as a nominee in Entertainment awards, or GASPS a Daesang. its like you are okay or good, but when it comes to being the best, we still love our own countryman over you, sorry. I dun see a non Korean winning any music auditions, they can move as far as semi finalists or even the finals, but in the end the winner or prize money always goes to a Korean, he can be foreign born or like in US/Canada, but he tends to be Korean heredity. like Michelle Lee of Kpop Star Season 1, in the show she was praised for her singing and such and even signed with YG, but she talks about being bullied and such, and she never made it in the music scene, compared to Lee Hi who was also in YG.

@Winston <-- Yes, I think that your above observations are *on target* (my view). I would say that similar logic applies in the USA too. PSY had the 'big hit' GANGNAM STYLE song ; and a LOT of USA visibility. BUT (my view) that never really translated into a LOT of USA PRODUCT ENDORSEMENTS. Or even USA citizens embracing PSY as 'One of their Own' somehow either. As to how all of this impacts CL (2NE1) over time, not clear to me yet.

i am not sure if CL would be successful over in USA, but i guess she would be wasting her time there, (while she may get more mature from the experience), and have a "Been there, Done that" and can tell the media, Yo, I am someone who has debut in USA. its like Lee Jung or Rain saying I am a Hollywood star, when they probably only had 1 or 2 movies, which didnt do so well. For example like Psy, if u see the reaction videos to those reacting to "I LUV IT" and "New Face" they all say they "like it or love it" but i was thinking behind my monitor, how many of those people ACTUALLY paid and bought his song, even if its Just US$1 on Apple iTunes. its seems to me more Lip Service than actual action. Maybe CL can get them to open their wallets more than they open their mouth. but i dun think 1% of US even know who CL is.

krell Winston Wednesday, May 17, 2017

@Winston --> "How many of those people ACTUALLY paid and bought his song (PSY) ... I don't think 1% of US even know who CL is." <-- You make a GOOD point here! ... Again, to me, this is NOT surprising though ; the idea of 'favoring the locals' if you will (citizens of your own nation).
