Girl group PRISTIN recently sat down for an exclusive interview with MyDaily.

With 7 out of the 10 members having debuted after appearing in Mnet's 'Produce 101,' PRISTIN commented on composing their own songs. "We didn't just focus on composing music... We wanted to present a variety of colors to our audience so we began writing our own music naturally."

Releasing their title song "Wee Woo," PRISTIN is one of the unique girl groups to compose their own songs.

The girls commented, "Since all of our members are unique individuals in addition to different personalities, that's what makes us stand out as a group. Likewise, we are able to illustrate a new sound through our music."

They mentioned how they want to become a group that makes fans anticipate their next move.  "We would like to be a group that constantly sparks interest and curiosity, like 'What's going to be their next song' or What kind of choreography would they come up with next.'"

Meanwhile, PRISTIN returned with their latest album 'HI! PRISTIN' on March 21.

It's encouraging for them that their company let them work on their song but I don't find them really original and to me the lyrics of Wee Woo weren't great, the song wasn't that good and it wasn't really differenrt from what other gg are coming up with those day...

People know they are talented...but talented is not enough. You must have super catchy music. Even After school debut is more memorable than theirs. In this unfairness of kpop, the popularity and trending music are the winner. Look at super trash talentless group like twice win kpop with super catchy song. Y'all need pro composer for the next comeback. You are in rank 3 in music show because you have big fanbase. But if you keep trash song like wee woo as title track, no one would care anymore. Just like After School .

I love pristin but  wee woo was trash

I like them, I really do, but just like how you wouldn't start a fashion line for someone who just sort of matches belts to outfits for fun, you wouldn't release a song just because it was composed by an idol. The song has to actually be good, there's no merit in writing it if it's trash. Especially for a debut song, they should have left it in the hands of a proper experienced composer. A songwriter is someone who's been writing songs for a long time and has a passion for it, not an idol who wants to show off, idk. If I was a composer I would sort of feel looked down on.

That's exactly what I thought, I was very hyped for this group I really wished they did what YG did with black pink, handed their debut songs to an expert Teddy who worked on it for two years and the results were amazing, I was hoping the same for Pristin

It's good that Pledis encourages these girls to write their own songs and whatever. But there's a difference between being able to write a song and being able to write a quality song. I feel like they're trying to force this "we produce our own songs & that makes us more unique from other girl groups" kinda vibe. In other words overhyping themselves. Pristin is talented and hard working though I dont think the public cares unless they put out something worthwhile.

that song can be not good for everyone, but for the view of this girl i think they are really proud of that, i mean they do their own song, ! , but time gives the answer, if "wee woo" doenst achieve something well i believe they will go directly to a songwriter .

Am sorry but I wished the hadn't written the song wee woo it's too bland,  the lyrics screams amateur,  right now Dia wrote their upcoming comeback song am not that enthusiastic about it,  there is a different between being able to do something and being able to do if nicely

Title song is definitely far from unique, it's actually a very mediocre song in my opinion. There were so many parts that were meant to be memorable and catchy which they were but every single part was so disconnected to one another, thus making the whole song overall very average and weird really. I love the girls though, I find them really beautiful, charming, talented and hardworking. I won't discredit them of their determination and ability to compose songs which is rare in girl groups (or should I say companies just generally don't allow their artists to write anything for the groups thus not showcasing their full potential, god bless Pledis *sometimes*) and a one in a million trait that companies should develop in their trainees. I'm pretty sure they were inspired by seniors SEVENTEEN and were given good advice from them on self song compositions too. Hope to see more from them in the future but I can't lie, Wee Woo is a disappointment especially when I've been waiting for them since their Pledis Girlz days.
