This album barely edged out Seventeen's 'Going Seventeen' (released last month) for the #10 spot. GOT7's album sales keep on increasing with each subsequent release.

8. #8 EXO - EX'ACT (Chinese)

The Chinese version of EX'ACT with very high sales.

The highest sales for a solo release on this list.
6. #6 EXO-CBX - Hey Mama!
Sales: 275,191

The highest sales for a sub-unit in 2016.
5. #5 TWICE - TWICEcoaster: LANE 1
Sales: 350,852

The only girl group on the list. No girl group in the past 10 years can compete with their physical album sales besides Girls' Generation.
4. #4 BTS - Young Forever
Sales: 368,369

BTS's popularity keeps on rising much like the hot air balloon depicted on their album cover.

EXO's Winter albums always sell well.
2. #2 EXO - EX'ACT (Korean)
Sales: 549,378

In terms of total volume (adding up all the sales from releases), EXO is still #1. However, they have been dethroned if you only measure the top selling album.
1. #1 BTS - 'Wings'
Sales: 751,301

BTS broke two streaks. #1 EXO had the top-selling album for the past 3 years. #2 An SM artist had the top-selling album every year going back to TVXQ in 2008. It's remarkable that BTS has climbed up the ranks so quickly.
