The movie started playing in theaters on January 20th, and the show became an instant #1 at the box office worldwide. It brought in over $50.5 million USD, landing in the #1 spot in countries such as India, Russia, France, and Germany. This is only a start of how the movie will be doing, as it's not released yet in Korea, Japan, and especially China. The movie will start playing in those countries in February.

Fans who were watching the movie in the countries that it is released in were treated to Kris partying it up on a criminal island, shooting lots of guns, and being a "baller" (his own words). Also, fans were treated a bit of a surprise when during the movie, he's introduced to mechanical gloves called 'EXO-gloves'. It's unclear if that's just a little Easter egg, or if it actually stands for something in the movie, but it's something fun nonetheless.
