Jung Chae Yeon talked about her two groups DIA and IOI in 'The Star'.

Regarding IOI's impending disbandment, Jung Chae Yeon said, "It's very upsetting that it's coming to an end soon. But I believe each one of us will do well in our positions after the end of promotions."

She also opened up about promoting in 2 groups, and said, "It's a bit difficult. I had a lot of solo promotions so I felt sorry toward both groups but I'm grateful that they understood."

Lastly, Jung Chae Yeon said, "DIA feels more like a family while IOI is more like a meeting with colleagues. There are some things that you can talk to your family about and there are things that you only want to open up to your colleagues about."

Makes sense. Worded pretty well too.

Good analogy. There are plenty of brains in that pretty head.

I feel like Chaeyeon stands out more in IOI than she does in DIA. Like she has a better defined role in IOI.

Same for all of the IOI members. But I think it is more because of the build-up from P101. All 11 already had defined roles and known personalities before IOI even debuted... it was a big advantage for them right out of the gate.

kinda funny considering DIA debuted the year before IOI.

But DIA didn't have a hugely popular national TV show to showcase themselves with.

How satisfyingly diplomatic.

Sicillilli Wednesday, January 18, 2017

Shut up plastic monster, you're lucky IOI even promoted your fat elephant as*!

If you read another translation of what she said, it's actually says "If DIA feel like my maternal home, then with IOI it feels like an alumni gathering. I can tell my concern to my maternal side and there I can open up things that I want to say to my alumnus" Source @JchaeyeonglobalIt's a well made comparison, considering that she was the maknae in DIA(until Euncha joined in 2016), while on other hand in IOI she is one of the older one and have more dongsaeng to take care of. I think one definitely will share different sort of concerns to someone who is older(DIA) and to people who are younger than you(IOI).

PacifistDJ_OKO Wednesday, January 18, 2017

because IOI is almost over, ofc she will say something like this. btw you should stop smiling girl, you look like PABO with smile in your face

Crusaders PacifistDJ_OKO Wednesday, January 18, 2017

No, it's because of her "role" in both group. She was the maknae in DIA, so she could complained all she wanted to all her unnies. In IOI, she is one of the older one and I don't think she will share same kind of concern to her dongsaengs.

Layni_Tsuki Wednesday, January 18, 2017

She broke every lol fan's hearts.

Exo_Leia Wednesday, January 18, 2017

I respect her honesty

Winston Wednesday, January 18, 2017

Things like "When DIA is having a comeback" and what song they are recording and practicing now, she cant reveal to her IOI members, same as gugudan members like Sejung and Mina, they cant talk to other members, like oh we are practicing this song for next month now and that it is like this. So I think IOI is like a colleague to them, but they have their respective agency secrets they cant share with each other. the same happens when a married couple work in rival firms, like IBM and HP, while they can talk about "everything" they cant discuss work matters.

there are other translation that uses word like alumnus, school mates instead of colleagues. AKP translation is known for being bad.

Winston Crusaders Wednesday, January 18, 2017

Well colleagues will technically be more acurrate since they work together. schoolmates will be more erranous since they dun go to the same school and are not even the same age, how can somi of 16 yrs old be "schoolmates" to Im Nayeon the leader at 22? it would be strange.

Crusaders Winston Wednesday, January 18, 2017

The take away point is that Chaeyeon didn't describe ioi as colleagues, the word colleagues was never used in her interview. Bad choice of word chosen by AKP. What she said is basically, meeting DIA members is like meeting family members, while ioi is like a reunion between old classmates. Hench how she sees the relation between the two groups.
