Park Soo Hong, while enjoying himself at the reception with his friends, brought up the fact that when you look up his name on a search engine, the related keyword is 'gay.' He explained, "I think it's because I've never had a dating scandal, and I look good as a woman when I have a costume on."

Hearing this, MC Shin Dong Yup stated, "Soo Hong I know could never be gay because he really loves women!" making everyone in the studio laugh.

...why is this even being brought up as a topic for discussion?

karebearsays Saturday, December 17, 2016

A lot of people here seem not to like the fact that they addressed this topic, but personally I kind of like that, because I mean if I were a celebrity and people started thinking I was gay then ofc I'm going to revoke those claims. I don't want people thinking things that aren't true. Those people on the shows only ask the questions that the writers write, and the writers generally get those questions from the fans that want to know. They don't have to answer the questions if they don't want to.  And chances are, if they refuse to answer they'll edit it out of the segment.

Stereotypes I swear to god. Just because someone doesn't get tied in dating scandals doesn't mean they're gay, like what does that have to do with anything? Smh. It's like a route of Mystic Messenger in this piece.

YoUrAvErAgEVIP Saturday, December 17, 2016

UGH I SWEAR!!!! Why is being gay something people care so fucking much about LIKE DANM like whoever you love is whoever you love POINT. BLANK. PERIOD.

Helder_Simoes_21 Saturday, December 17, 2016

I would love if G-Dragon came out as bissexual, because I think he is brave enough and can handle the pressure and that would make people think twice about being gay

bangeryun94 Saturday, December 17, 2016

My brother loves women a lot too.  He's still gay.

hohliu bangeryun94 Saturday, December 17, 2016

which brother? how are you?

bangeryun94 hohliu Saturday, December 17, 2016

Hey there! Twin Kyu.

Being gay Im really hoping that one day more celebs comes out (other than Hong Seok Cheon) because it takes people who are brave to start initiative of change. Yeah you might get hate and stuff but it takes brave people to pave the way for future generations to not be afraid.

MichinNom 091294 Friday, December 16, 2016

Im waiting for jo kwon to come out... i think by this point everyone knows and is waiting for him to come out. Haha

ilikeJB 091294 Friday, December 16, 2016

Being confident of their own sexuality doesn't even mean they have to come out for the world. You don't have to explain anything to the society about your own sexuality, you don't owe them anything.

k_kid MichinNom Saturday, December 17, 2016

Jo Kwon is metro. I don't think he's gay. A very close friend of mine is married to a woman and his mannerisms and voice are exactly how a gay guy would act and talk. He even wears shorts really high as well. There's a lot of guys who you would think are gay, but aren't.

MichinNom k_kid Saturday, December 17, 2016

True I do see your point but if he didn't sleep for one of 2am or 2pm members im sorry he dun fucked up haha either way sweet guy.

A friend from Korea told me that there're a couple of idols who are actually known to be gay. Not exactly publicly, but locals, people (not necesarily fans) that live in the area know. To be fair, they could be bi, not exactly gay, but yes. Some even dated. In the company is safer, plus outside of the company is complicated and they don't get to see each other that much. A lot of fans from the area that know are actually very careful to keep it under the radar (which surprised me) because they don't want to ruin their "oppa's" career. This friend knows quiet a few things by living in the "right place" lol, he's told me a bunch of stuff weeks, even months before they were public. Everything from serious stuff, to scandals haha so I trust him. Anyway, I'm not trying to convince anybody of anything, thought I'd share this. Just because these guys (there's also a few girls) are not out to the world doesn't meant they're in the closet. They still get to enjoy themselves, which I love <3

RockyKB Saturday, December 17, 2016

I just thought I'd share this***

supa MichinNom Saturday, December 17, 2016

Key needs to come out too.

bangeryun94 RockyKB Saturday, December 17, 2016

They've come out to their group members and their agency. Its not up to fans or non fans to out artists. That is a personal decision to be made by the person. Any time someone tries to do it, they're quickly shut down. It shouldn't be a big deal anyway.

Celebs r seen as role models. Korea has a ton of people who are gay but they are afraid to come out and be who they are due to scrutiny society there has. It takes public figures to change the stigma. How do you expect korea to accept people who are gay? Korea as a whole is still in a very close minded place. It takes people in the public eye to be brave to tell the world they are gay. By doing so they are paving the way for the future. Its like imagine as if in the US no celeb or public figure came out as gay. We would be in the same place as korea where a ton of people are against. With their help they were able to spread the awareness of gay people existing leading to more people to be able to come out and not be afraid.

ilikeJB 091294 Saturday, December 17, 2016

Coming out and announcing to the public is very different. In the first place, all LGBT, public figure or not, have a choice whether to announce it to the public or not. If one wants to remain his sexuality as private matters and only disclose to his close family and friends, that is their right. No one should concern them to be come role models.

MichinNom supa Saturday, December 17, 2016

Yasssssss lol i forgot about him

bangeryun94 091294 Saturday, December 17, 2016

What do you think Korea is doing? It would be fine for celebs to come out if we didn't have all these fans who live in dream land concerning actors and idols. It's okay to write stories about 2 members having sex together but if it were actually true the world would end. And Korea has no more people against being gay than any other country. There are gay pride parades, gay clubs on university campuses. The student body president at Seoul National University is openly gay. It's not illegal to be gay in Korea or punishable by death. There are dozens of gay clubs in Korea. And one day we will have marriage by same sex couples, hopefully sooner rather than later

OhMyGuy Friday, December 16, 2016

Whats the point of them asking if their gay? If one of them were to say yes their careers would be done. It's basically like asking "Hey do you like your career or do you want it to be over and the public to hate you? Yes or No?"

k_kid OhMyGuy Friday, December 16, 2016

Korea is much more tolerable than you think. They even have LGBT parades. It wouldn't even be allowed if Koreans were THAT intolerable.

Nina_Host k_kid Saturday, December 17, 2016

Past occurences make it seem like it though. Especially if you are in the public eye. Hong seok cheon had to go through a lot to come back on tv and there were other instances where people killed themselves. I'm guessing they aren't as intolerant as we may think, but still enough to make it a really though decision to come out.

OhMyGuy k_kid Saturday, December 17, 2016

Those are for regular citizens. If a celeb/idol came out their career would be over. They are somewhat tolerant if the LGBTQ member is a nobody in the public eye.

k_kid Nina_Host Saturday, December 17, 2016

That was in the past. Korea has changed so much in just a decade. It's usually the older folks who are still narrow minded as ever. But there's hope in the younger generation. They're much more open minded and tolerable.

YoUrAvErAgEVIP k_kid Saturday, December 17, 2016

They also had a homophobic ex-president

bangeryun94 Nina_Host Saturday, December 17, 2016

Celebrities make the choice not to come out, especially idols, because fans are already so intrusive in their lives. They take enough ridiculous attitude from their fans. Why would they want to add to it?
