JB from GOT7 is under fire for making a comment on 'Flower Boy Bromance' that some say was homophobic.

In the recent episode of 'Flower Boy Bromance,' JB and Youngjae continued their hangout. During the show, however, after going to a couples cafe, JB seemed to express his discomfort at Youngjae's comment, "I wanted to come here with you." JB responds, "This place is not for two boys... I might beat you up."

International netizens started to express their anger against JB, claiming that his words had a homophobic undertone.

Some took their anger to Jackson's Instagram,

Starting from the 6:00 mark:

Of course, many fans are defending him, saying there was no malicious intent and that the comments are just a friendly jab/exchange between two close friends.

What do you guys think about what JB said? Was it a homophobic comment or are netizens overreacting to a joke?

Someone needs to tell me what was homophobic about what he said. They're friends!! They can joke like this, when was it illegal to joke with friends? And if he was homophobic ( don't think he was though), who the hell gave you the right to become social media warriors and drag something that wasn't even remotely offensive and bring it to Jackson's attention??

he is just pissy he got no gf

AuroraIman Sunday, December 11, 2016

He just said it, because he was with his friend. He didn't mean it in a different way. I think a lot of people did take it in the wrong way.

I think that this should be cleared once and for all. Being intolerant about intolerance is NOT bigotism. You cannot accept every beliefs others have, above all if they are wrong. P.S. Considering forms of discrimination beliefs is an insult to real beliefs tbh.

What the heck are you talking about? Obviously Jaebum is not homophobic since he chose to go on a show that's titled "Flower Boy Bromance". There was a line crossed and Jaebum threatened to beat him up. All in good fun. This is something I would do with a friend, regardless of sexuality. Just because we accept and acknowledge that people have different sexualities, doesn't mean we have to engage in it. He never even discriminated against the LGBT community. You people don't know the history behind their relationship in order to say that he is homophobic. Y'all are just throwing that term around. I hope Jaebum doesn't apologize because he did nothing wrong. Y'all are worse than what you accuse him of being. All this ad hominen and circular reasoning is going to make my head explode.

Isn't he saying that because they're close friends but they're going to a couples' cafe?

Stupid international fans imposing and forcing their own ideals and values on others... You are the one who chose to follow and support a Korean (who btw most don't accept gays)... Then you expect them to change and believe in your own ideals... it's not the homophobes who are close minded, but the idealists who think that everyone has to believe in what they do.. If you don't like what you see, get lost..

So, are you actually stating that being homophobic is fine? I'm literally disgusted.

Jejusdude Wednesday, December 7, 2016

hi l'm korean. Kpop should think about this problem. Kpop uses homosexuality a selling point and at the same time shows homopobia without filtration. This is not a blame. We are talking about a better direction on this problem. The lgbt fan is also a fan. They should be respected.
