On November 15, the highly anticipated new, fantasy romance starring Lee Min Ho and Jun Ji Hyun aired its first episode. The humorous first encounter between the majestic mermaid and the brilliant forger managed to capture viewers' attentions, resulting in numerous positive reviews.
'The Legend of the Blue Sea' also did exceedingly well in viewer ratings. The first episode hit two digits right away, recording 16.4% according to calculations by Nielsen Korea. This is 2% higher than 'Descendants of the Sun's viewer ratings for its first episode, which recorded 14.3%. Meanwhile, new KBS drama 'Oh My Geum Bi', and MBC drama 'Weightlifting Fairy Kim Bok Joo' recorded 5.9% and 3.3% respectively, on November 15.
Many are expecting 'The Legend of the Blue Sea' to bring forth another drama syndrome similar to 'DOTS'.
