Actor Jung Il Woo previously announced that he would be enlisting this December much to the disappointment of his fans, but it looks like there may be complications. According to reports on November 30, the actor has been diagnosed with a disorder called cerebral aneurysm, which may exempt him from his mandatory military service duties if he decides to submit for re-examination.

A cerebral aneurysm consists of "a weakness in a blood vessel in the brain that balloons and fills with blood." Reports claim that Jung Il Woo suffered from headaches and migraines over the past 3 years, and the primary cause of his diagnosis is most likely his car accident back in 2006. Jung Il Woo was with fellow actor Lee Min Ho at the time, and both suffered from severe injuries.

If aneurysms in the brain rupture due to stress caused by strong emotions or from high blood pressure, it may cause life-threatening bleeding. The only way to completely treat an aneurysm is through surgery, and supposedly, Jung Il Woo has been going through regular examinations, watching his symptoms carefully.

Despite the likelihood that if he goes through a re-examination, he may receive an exemption from his mandatory military service, Jung Il Woo will reportedly choose to carry out his active duties. He'll receive training as formerly announced next month before being assigned as a social worker for 2 years.

He probably should have the surgery to fix it and take time to recover before going into the comes only have one life...

Look at jung il woo's determination and devotion to his country to serve in the military despite his conditions but Mc Mong took himself out of it himself.. I don't want to bring him in or have any hatred towards him but the difference is real.. can't help it.. :(

Pls take good care of your health oppa

please.... just take care of your health!

li_xiao_yan Wednesday, November 30, 2016

O_O No. Just no! His arteries could pop at any moment and he wants to march and do military drills? I hope they make him sit at a desk. ㅠㅠ Please don't die!!!

Sweet_Milk_Tea li_xiao_yan Thursday, December 1, 2016

there's the police unit and then there's the active unit. They'll probably have him do the police unit.

li_xiao_yan Sweet_Milk_Tea Sunday, December 4, 2016

Mm. I know. I hope they don't even let him do the training. All service (police or not) usually has basic training where they march, handle guns, etc etc. His condition is such that physical exertion may result in hemorrhage. ㅠㅠ

He shouldn't go , it's not that important going right these days i mean . Because in other countries they don't do that anymore , can anyone tell me why they're still doing that in Korea? I'm worried about him he should take care of his health not his duty towards the country . I prefer him not going staying alive instead of going and something bad happens to him XCCC.If he insists of going they should give him less time there and be extra careful with his health , not pushing himself too hard.

korean_zombie kjclover54 Wednesday, November 30, 2016

I agree with you. The reason is North Korea.

li_xiao_yan kjclover54 Wednesday, November 30, 2016

North Korea, ya know.

ephiasus07 Wednesday, November 30, 2016

he should not go in military in my opinion... aneurysm is like a walking time bomb.. if not taken care or strained yourself too much it might cause your life..

teleri ephiasus07 Wednesday, November 30, 2016

Uh, he's going as a SOCIAL WORKER - I'm trusting that means nothing very strenuous. Both Jung Il Woo and Lee Min Ho aren't physically fit enough for regular military service cause of that accident.

ephiasus07 teleri Wednesday, November 30, 2016

oh a social ddnt saay here tho.. sorry.. they shouldnt mind the nega netizens going against them.. its life threatheningh tho.. its more important than peoples opinion

Sweet_Milk_Tea ephiasus07 Thursday, December 1, 2016

going to the Korean military means two things: either you go into the police unit or you go into active duty. People with medical conditions are usually put in the police unit and just do police stuff and administrative work.

ephiasus07 Sweet_Milk_Tea Thursday, December 1, 2016

nice... im really confused when it comes to korea's military stuff..

teleri Sweet_Milk_Tea Thursday, December 1, 2016

There's a third option (what Jung Il Woo is doing, & what Mickey Yoochung is currently doing) - public service, which is NOT police.

marisara24 Wednesday, November 30, 2016

OMG he should be very careful with his health!! That's a very dangerous condition!! Be well Jung Il Woo, you're one of my favorite actors since Return of Iljimae!! You're in my prayers! 😔😔

Saraa0112 Wednesday, November 30, 2016

He'll get so much shit from netizens if he doesn't go. Even if he was exempt, they wouldn't like him acting until his supposed date of discharge :/

meganeve18 Saraa0112 Wednesday, November 30, 2016

Netizens understand that he's had this condition for years now due to a terrible accident. They don't think people with medical conditions should go. Because people with physical injuries and disabilities cannot go and are exempt, this is like a disability in terms that he cannot perform like a regular soldier in conscription - he'll do social work instead.

bangeryun94 Saraa0112 Wednesday, November 30, 2016

Oh please. He has a legitimate reason for not enlisting and nobody would fault him for it. And celebrities don't work for those 2 years even if they're exempt out of respect for the men that are serving. Everyone here knows how badly he was injured.
