Person A, who first started actress Lee Si Young's sex tape rumors, and reporter B, who wrote an article based on false information, are facing penalties.
Back in June of 2015, Lee Si Young was accused of being the woman in a sex tape that roamed the web. However, a month later it was proven that it was not the actress in the sex tape, and Lee Si Young stepped up to take legal action against the malicious rumors.
The investigation, which started in October of 2015, came to a close a year later. The final ruling gave person A 6-months of penal servitude, a 1-year probation, and 200 hours of community service. Reporter B faces 1-year of penal servitude, a 2-year probation, and 200 hours of community service.
4 others have been fined with 3,000,000 KRW (~$2651) for taking part in spreading the rumors.
