Pentagon compare themselves to rival group SF9

During their debut showcase for their 1st mini album 'Pentagon', Cube Entertainment rookie boy group Pentagon were asked about their direct rival group SF9, just as SF9 were asked about Pentagon just a few days ago in an interview.

Jinho spoke up on the group's behalf to answer the question, with, "We thought that a question about competition with SF9 would be unavoidable, since our debuts were only 5 days apart. We don't mean to single out SF9, but we believe that we will be able to create more music that suits our performance and our color since the 10 of us are capable of producing, composing, writing lyrics, and creating choreography."

I think it was worded incorrectly. The point that he was trying to get across is that Pentagon as a group are able to portray their own tastes and variety of their styles. It wasn't rude, it's truthful. Can't blame you though, a lot of idols are "suppose" to be giving vague supportive answers.

I also wonder how good this translation is. But it was an honest answer. Both groups have their own stil and colors. Fans will make their own opinion for this answer, but I really hope it won't start a war. Jinho is far from being a rude person.

...what rivalry? like what? the last "rivalry" i rememebr was infinite and teen top and they ended up being good friends. OH and exo and BAP but they respect each others music and have friendships within the groups as well. WHAT RIVALRY?! everyone is friends in the industry in someway shape or form.

Rivalry as musicians - not as people, who may very well be friends. Rivalry in who succeeds, or who finds greater success. It is their job at the end of the day even if they do have relationships beyond it, but there would definitely be some competition (whether it is all consuming or not).

If you look at the views of the mvs SF9 came out 6 days ago and only has 633,436 views and Pentagon has 681,273 views in only 1 day. I think Pentagon won this debut round. Plus what Jinho said was the truth. They are well versed in composing, producing, writing lyrics and creating choreography. I mean it's what Cube is known for. All their artist have a hand in their own music and production. So I don't think Jinho was being rude he was just speaking as a matter of fact.

Both groups have their own style and talents. None is better or poorer. Jinho used to be in SM for 6 years and also worked as vocal coach while Kino and Yuto are already choreographer of their groups. It could be a advantage. Maybe. I don't think that these groups will fight each other and so shouldn't their fandoms.

No really, SF9's debut single sold double than Pentagon's debut EP or second EP. I can't believe than SF9 have a bigger fanbase than Pentagon, when Pentagon had bigger hype and their reality show was bigger, what happened to Cube?

I don't think that Pentagon wants fanwars. They are simply happy to be able to stand on stage with all 10 members after fearing to get thrown away. I'm sure SF9 and PTG won't fight, heh.
