FIESTAR's Linzy appeared on MBC's 'Duet Song Festival' on September 16 to perform with Byun Jin Seop.

In the interview with the production crew, she revealed her experience with crying while practicing singing.  She said, "It's been about four to five years since debut.  Singers who debuted with us like AOA and EXID have turned over new leaves as amazing people.

"I thought all I had to do was debut, but in real life, it wasn't as simple as that.  I'm sad now that time has passed and I've aged.  However, I'm not giving up yet.  I practice with the mindset of let's see who's going to win. I sang while crying."

the weird thing is that their previous single - apple pie - was a really good song. If they had come from a top 3 label or was famous via a viral video, that song would've been a big hit

Hmm but Yezi and Cao Lu are both pretty well-known to the public. I feel like their company could've done more to make the whole group get more popular (like mediaplay and stuff).

And Jei to some extent.

That's how the kpop industry works. You either build a fanbase through regular promotion. Or you get lucky with a hot topic about your group. Same as the real world EVERYONE has the basics, in kpop it's looks, the music, and dancing. In the office world EVERYONE has a degree for that job. What do you have that's special that stands out?

RGreene Saturday, September 17, 2016

i didn't even realize AOA and Fiestar debut the same year. I don't know why but it felt like Fiestar has been around SOOOO much longer to me.

intricate RGreene Saturday, September 17, 2016

to me it actually felt like the other way around.. AOA has like a history nobody really knows about, but fans sort of do. While Fiestar really has a history nobody knows about. Which is sad, because they aren't half bad! I think they'll get there eventually.. just slower than the rest.

Eydein Saturday, September 17, 2016

Honestly, they're a really good group! I listen to way more songs of FIESTAR than EXID's so for me they're not a failure at all! Unfortunately a lot of groups and soloists don't get enough attention from K/I fans though they're really talented. Like G.Soul for example, or NU'EST or Ladies' Code, and so many others... !

but tbh when ppl talk about aoa and exid they only know hani, seolhyun, choa and jimin and the rest of the members are just that, the rest of the members. Also after aoa's controversy their popularity decreased a lot

Their first songs were amazing, I really loved them! But then they started doing super normal music and concepts and now they don't have a special flavor at all. I was so disappointed and well, I'm sorry for them =/

The South Korean music market can't support the dozens of groups competing for a slice of the kpop pie. Some will get big slices, some small, and others will only get crumbs or nothing at all... that's business.

nami_chan Friday, September 16, 2016

their last comeback was bad, even yezi didn't look happy about that concept. So I blame their company for giving them that kind of songs, they are talented, specially yezi ,for that reason I hope they can have a successful comeback, fighting.

KPOP_GIRL_EUROPE nami_chan Friday, September 16, 2016

you mean apple pie or mirror?

nami_chan KPOP_GIRL_EUROPE Friday, September 16, 2016

apple pie

mydeerlikesbacon nami_chan Saturday, September 17, 2016

Tbh I wasn't a fan of Apple Pie at all. I thought they were doing great with the sad kind of concept with You're Pitiful and Mirror, but then they suddenly reverted back to the brighter concept for Apple Pie. Completely drove me off tbh. I'm still a fan, but the company really needs to pull up their socks.

Sharkry mydeerlikesbacon Saturday, September 17, 2016

You're Pitiful was awesome, the whole album was it really fitted them, Apple Pie wasn't necessarily bad but not a concept for them, if they wanted a less darker concept they should have gone with one like One More rather than Apple Pie imo

danilove3709 Friday, September 16, 2016

It sucks since their debut song wasn't bad, it was their mediocre comeback songs that did them dirty. Also, i am low key upset Hyemi is in Girl's Spirit and not Linzy. But whatever.

chansngs danilove3709 Friday, September 16, 2016

Linzy has been busy with a musical since before that show even started, so you can stay upset about that. Plus Hyemi would be doing so much better if she chose the right songs

danilove3709 chansngs Friday, September 16, 2016

Yeah, she can only grow from this, right?
