It's been reported INFINITE Dongwoo's father passed away on September 2.
According to reports, Dongwoo's father, who'd been fighting a chronic illness, passed in the early morning. The idol star had been in Japan for promotions with INFINITE, but he flew home quickly to arrange a funeral for his father with his family.
INFINITE's scheduled concert 'That Summer 3' in Japan is currently undecided following the sad news. The group is also planning a comeback album to be released on September 19.

This is so sad. When I was younger, my dad's mom died and he cried at the funeral. I was so confused because she had been sick for a while and he had to know it was coming. I asked my mom and she said "losing your parents is one of the hardest things you will ever do, ever." it's stuck with me ever since. i can't imagine not having my mom or dad around any more

Mr. Jang. No, this can't be true. He's such a happy-go-lucky guy, just like Dongwoo. Dongwoo loves his mother and father A LOT. And I mean A LOT. And Mrs. Jang is also such a cheerful person and she always showers her husband and kids with smiles and aegyo. They're just the perfect, most happiest family. I remember watching them interact and I could only be jealous of having a family like theirs. I can't stop crying. I remember seeing pics and videos of Dongwoo taking his parents out to dinner cuz he missed them so much. Dongwoo my angel. I know he's going to take this really hard. He's going to do everything he can for his mother, sisters and niece. Knowing the kind of heart and mind Dongwoo has, my own heart is ripping apart. They were the perfect, most happy family. Even if they didn't have everything, they had happiness. I know I'm going to cry even harder when I see Dongwoo's face. He was always smiling and being bubbly even though he was worried about his father. During Infinite Effect, when he announced the news that his father was battling cancer, he broke down. It's really painful seeing someone like him not smiling and laughing, but in pain. He was sobbing so hard. And the members were wiping his tears, holding him and saying that they will stick by his side through it all. My heart hurt to see our ball of sunshine like that. Rest in peace Mr. Jang. I hope you're not hurting any longer and are looking down at us from heaven. Just know that we will make sure Dongwoo and your family stay happy. Thank you for everything you've done for Dongwoo, Infinite and Inspirits. We love you. ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥
