F.T. Island guested on the August 5 installment of 'Sketchbook,' getting chatty with MC Yoo Hee Yeol on a variety of topics.

The boys, who haven't been on 'Sketchbook' in three years, confessed that being on the show is "a trauma" to them. Hongki said jokingly, "There are times when we get so nervous that we become downright flustered. It feels like an interrogation room," bringing laughter.

F.T. Island also talked about their long tenure in the K-Pop scene, revealing their thoughts on the 'idol band' title which stuck when they first debuted in 2007. Hongki said that he's made peace with being an 'idol band,' saying, "Just two or three years ago, I didn't like the term 'idol band' but I'm okay with it now. I feel like we're uncles when we go on music programs."

When MC Yoo Hee Yeol asked what their goal as a band is, they answered, "We want to continue doing music even when we're past the age of 50."

The good thing about bands is that they can keep going far longer that dance groups, so there's a real chance for them to continue for the next 50 years :)

Hey Hongstar, I'll proudly rock on with you in your 50s (dang boy, I'll be older than you). I mean, look at X-Japan. Still amazing as ever.

So long as FtIsland continues to be honest to almost a flaw Primadonna's will always be there.

Perhaps rock will make a comeback with FT Island and even Wonder Girls. I hope so.

Aleeis Canuckkpop Friday, August 5, 2016

I wouldn't exactly categorize Wonder Girls as rock just cause they're playing instruments now...

They did change So Hot and I Feel you to a rock concept on MBC last Christmas

Aleeis Canuckkpop Friday, August 5, 2016

Well, I still don't think changing a couple songs qualifies them as rock. I love CNBLUE as well as FTISLAND, and though they started out rock, I wouldn't even really categorize CN as rock anymore.

CN Blue has always been pop rock hasn't they?

Aleeis shannnnt Saturday, August 6, 2016

Yes, but they had much more rock sound earlier on in their career, especially in their Japanese releases.

You don't actually hear it anymore from them. They've moved onto more of a pop-electronic sounds.

If ftisland continue making such awesome music, imma proudly wave that pentastick in the air at their concerts when they still hold concerts in their fifties

Their new album is amazing! I love Hongki's unique voice. I hope they never stop making songs.
