Chinese smartphone company 'Vivo' will no longer be featuring Song Joong Ki in their advertisement.
Back in May, 'Vivo' chose Song Joong Ki as their new model following his hit drama 'Descendants of the Sun'. A contract worth 22 million CN¥ (~$3.3 million USD) was signed between the Hallyu star and 'Vivo'; however, he will no longer be found in their ads.

Ongoing issues between China and South Korea surrounding THAAD seem to be the main reason for the sudden change in plans, but fortunately, Song Joong Ki will not suffer any financial losses, as 'Vivo' has agreed to still pay their model in full. 'Vivo', however, will be suffering from both financial and marketing losses.
