Korea may have its fair share of odd, 'WTF'-inducing beauty standards--'S' line, 'V' line, etc., etc.--but so, in fact, does the western world. Some of the popular trends in the west now, particularly in pop culture, are impossibly gigantic butts that don't look real; bushy, unkempt 'lumberjack' beards; and full, almost bloated-looking lips. These are a stark contrast to Korean beauty trends which usually emphasize minimalism.
YouTube channel called 'ChoNunMigookSaram' uploaded a reaction video of Koreans reacting to the western beauty trends. When shown the unrealistically large butts of celebrities such as Iggy Azalea and Nicki Minaj, most people were turned off. One girl even described Minaj's butt as "monster-sized" while one guy commented, "Do rappers all get butt augmentation surgery?"
However, when shown a picture of a regular persons' butt before and after butt augmentation surgery, most people agreed that the 'after' was a lot better than before. One girl hilariously remarked, "I need to get that surgery."
