Hallyu star Kim Soo Hyun was reported by Chinese media to have had an event in China on May 20 for '520 Confession Day.' The media also reported that a lot of tickets for the front seats were being sold illegally right before the actual event started for approximately 3.52 million KRW (~ 3,200 USD)!
Kim Soo Hyun's side addressed this issue on May 21, saying, "It is true that Kim Soo Hyun participated at a brand event that opened in Shenzhen, Guangdong, China on May 20. It was a closed event and the advertiser's side supervised everything, so we had not been aware of [what had been going on in] the reports.
"Because the illegal ticket sales happen amongst the fans, we only found out after we read the articles. As the event took place in China, the advertisers personally supervised the ticket releases and sales, so we can't get involved in it."
Illegal sales or no, dang, that's a lot of money to see Kim Soo Hyun! This only proves his immense popularity overseas once more.
