The actress made a statement through her agency Onion Management on March 5. She stated, "Firstly, I would like to apologize. I apologize for hurting Yewon and for not being able to control my emotions at that moment. I said something I shouldn't have said, and I'm deeply reflecting and regretful of myself."

Lee Tae Im went on to explain, "While filming a diving scene, I went outside of the water to rest because it was so cold. I was standing next to a heater to warm up, and it's true that before I went back into the ocean, Yewon approached me first. However, I didn't accept what she said as something friendly or as something she said because she was worried about me."

On another topic that's been causing her stress, she stated, "I've read what's been going around in tabloids. I swear that the curses I said were not to that level. Now that I think about it, it's true that I heard what Yewon said as informal. However, it wasn't something I should've been so sensitive about. Yewon said those things because she worried about me, but in that situation, I wasn't able to accept it well. That's why I think I expressed my emotions in that moment. I'm personally very sorry to Yewon. I want to apologize."

As previously reported, Lee Tae Im stated in an interview that she cursed at Yewon because the idol star had spoken to her informally, and Yewon's agency Star Empire Entertainment as well as other sources have denied her assertions. Lee Tae Im's agency also stated that the actress is currently reflecting and apologetic about her recently reported behavior
