North Korea bans the beloved Choco Pie, which can only mean MORE FOR US!

You know what's awesome? Choco Pie.

Yaaaaa.

But you know what's not awesome? Authorities that deny you that chocolatey, marshmallow, cake-y goodness. And unfortunately for North Korea, this nightmare is about to come true.

For those of you who have yet to try one of these cakes, I'm sorry to say that you have been deprived. For North Koreans who are about to have one of these pie-sized omnoms of happiness stripped from them, I feel for their loss.

Choco Pies have been introduced to North Korea via the Kaesong Industrial Complex, the jointly-run North & South Korean facility in the North Korean border city. Choco Pies would be given as bonuses to the workers. These workers, sick of being underpaid and seeing the value of the delicious mini-pie, would make extra money by selling them in the North Korean Choco Pie black market, making them readily available for North Koreans. Some estimate that around 2.5 million of these pies were traded in the market per month. Damn, that's a lot of hunger for Choco Pie.

Apparently North Korean authorities find the presence of the foreign Choco Pie to be a threat, and have previously attempted to spread rumors against the snack to discourage the trade. From Choco Pie being a South Korean ploy to psychologically tear the North Korean family apart ("Wow, this pie from down under is really good. I'm obviously in the wrong Korea."), to the Choco Pie being an actual bomb, North Korean authorities have attempted to scare their citizens from trading and eating the pies.

But of course, nothing can stop the mind and tummy from craving that crumbly chocolate and gooey marshmallow middle.�Thus, North Korea has taken upon itself to actually investigate and filter out the Choco Pie supply in Kaesong, creating an unspoken ban on the treat, and leaving the rest of the world confused, amused, and saying, "WELP, MORE FOR US!"�
