'Monstar' responds to an extra's accusations of sexual harassment against a manager Mr. Cha

lawsuit
Cable music drama 'Monstar' has recently faced some negative spotlight with a lawsuit being filed against one of the managers, who was in charge of overlooking the extras and supporting actors, by a female actress that was brought on as an extra.

The controversy sparked when the extra wrote about being sexually harassed by the manager in charge of the supporting actors and extras on set on an internet community on June 30th. The post has since been deleted, but it's been revealed that the extra has filed a suit against the said manager citing that Mr. Cha had touched her butt as well as breasts, and also made her get into positions that would show her underwear due to the short skirt she was supposed to wear. She also commented that the drama production team was notified of this, but they did not take any action.

Mr. Cha, on the other hand, denies sexually harassing her, insisting that she must have misunderstood his actions as being sexual advances when he had touched her butt in attempt to brush off the dirt that had gotten on her character's outfit.

Regarding this matter, the drama has stepped up to explain that they did all that they could to help the two resolve their differences and that Mr. Cha has been fired.

"A lawsuit has been filed against Mr. Cha, the manager for the supporting actors on 'Monstar'... The manager has been fired as of last weekend," a rep said and continued, "The extra was not hired by us and the manager in charge of the supporting actors is not part of our production team staff. However, it is something that occurred during the production process so if they're going to investigate the production team, then we will fully cooperate."

Another rep also added, "Although it is a matter between individuals, as it is something that occurred during the production process of the drama, we tried to get them to meet and did our best to figure out what really happened. That's why we're shocked that [the extra] has said that we did nothing in response... We do feel responsibility as it happened during the production process, but as it is between two individuals, we are worried that this situation will have a negative effect on the drama... The filming for the drama will proceed without any setbacks."
