Psy's "Gangnam Style" was chosen as 2012's '#1 hit item'.
The Samsung Economics Research Institute (SERI)�ran a survey on the biggest 10 'hit items' of 2012.
According to the results and SERI's 19,701 internet members, "Gangam Style" ranked on top of the list. The institute said, "There are 193 registered nations in the UN. People in 220 nations saw Psy's video. His ridicule of sexuality and somberness helped ease the passion of people all over the world, while they were repressed by recession."
No other celebrities or song managed to rank on the list.
