IU revealed a strange experience she had before her debut in 2008.

The solo singer guested on October 17th's 'Real Modern Concert' where she discussed the many failed auditions she's gone though since the age of 14.

After becoming a trainee at LOEN Entertainment, IU went to see a fortune teller recommended to her by her mother. It was the fortune teller who made IU believe in her career as a singer.

The fortune teller told her, "She will debut at 16 and have her fan signing at 17." IU confessed, "After a year, I suddenly debuted, and then I had my first fan signing the year after that. Ever since that experience, I don't get my fortune told because I'm scared."
