J.Y. Park clears up misunderstandings regarding his interview with Japanese media

Singer andJYP Entertainment producerJ.Y. Park has cleared up the misunderstandings regarding his interview with the Japanese press.

On May 11th, J.Y. Park wrote via his official Twitter page, "It's not true that the Wonder Girls are at the top and have no further goals to reach, therefore myself nor Wonder Girls have never thought or uttered those words. After review of the interview clip, it was revealed that the quote 'Wonder Girls "Nobody" climbed to the top in Korea' was mistranslated, and the article was corrected immediately."

"Please always keep in mind that it's possible for mistranslations to occur during interviews, especially in the ones that take place overseas," he continued. "Please also understand that it isn't easy for us to ask the media to publish the articles only after we have reviewed them, as it can come across as discourteous."

Ahead of his tweet, J.Y. Park held an interview with Japan's Oricon about the Wonder Girls' upcoming Japanese debut. One Korean media outlet incorrectly reported on May 10th that J.Y. Park stated during his interview, "Wonder Girls are at the summit, and have no higher goals to climb. We wanted to take on a bigger challenge," which caused a small controversy amongst netizens.

With his tweet, he was trying to clear up any misunderstandings that may have risen due to the mistranslation.

Netizens who read J.Y. Park's tweet then remarked, "I see, something just got lost in translation", "Wonder Girls, good luck in Japan!", and "Celebrities must have to be so careful with their words."
