Former Five Girls leader Gina Choi had an unsuccessful mishap early on in her k-pop career but now she's bouncing back with her solo debut!
You might recognize most, if not all, of the girls in the picture above. Why is that? That's because the four girls in the photo now belong to massively popular girl groups; Wonder Girls member Yubin, Secret's Hyosung, T-ara's Jiwon (has since left) and After School's UEE.
These girls were all once a part of Five Girls, a female girl group under Good Entertainment. Unfortunately, many new k-pop fanatics may be unaware of this fact because their debut never quite happened due to financial problems with their entertainment company and they just disbanded in 2008.
Each member has gone on to have successful careers in different girl groups except Gina Choi and Jiwon who left T-ara in the beginning era.
And unlike her other members, she will not be joining a girl group and will instead be branching out into her own path as a solo artist. Gina is currently signed under Cube Entertainment, home to big name idol groups like 4minute and BEAST.
On the 2nd a representative revealed, "Gina Choi is currently in the process of recording her solo track. If things go as planned, she will release her solo album at the end of this month and will officially begin promotions."
