Stormy Day for Rain, Ordered to Pay Big Money!

Rain / Bi was in Hawaii for the past week because of his lawsuit from Click Entertainment. Click Entertainment claims to have lost more than $1 million (with promotions) in a deal with Rain's managers because of his Cancellation of a Hawaii concert back in 2007. Click Entertainment paid Rain $500,000 up front and they claim that they were refused a return of the money even though the concert was canceled. Well things are looking stormy for Rain, because the jurors decided in favor of Click Entertainment to the tune of $8,700,000! Excerpt from the Pacific Business News:

A federal court jury in Honolulu found South Korean pop star Rain guilty of fraud for canceling a Hawaii concert in 2007 and ordered him to pay nearly $8.7 million in damages. The jury deliberated for less than a day before reaching the verdict and settling on the award, which includes $5 million in punitive damages. Rain, whose real name is Ji-Hoon Jung, was sued by Click Entertainment and its owner, Seong Su Lee, after the singer abruptly canceled a concert scheduled at Aloha Stadium in June 2007... Rain also faces lawsuits from promoters in California. Honolulu attorney Eric Seitz, who represented Click Entertainment, said outside court he will move to get the judgment paid quickly. Referring to Rain, Seitz told The Honolulu Advertiser: “He’s a very talented young man and I’m sorry he got caught up in this.” Attorneys for Rain and his managers left the courthouse without speaking to reporters.
