Alright, I know when we saw that kiss happen at the 2008 MKMF Awards we were all like "WTF?" and you could hear some VIPs fainting in the background, but a PD kindly decided to fill us in on what happened. The kiss was, indeed, planned. The producers "wanted to make the Big Bang and Hyori performance like a musical, so days before the performance, the kiss was fit in with the steps and procedures of the song." The PD stated:

TOP and Hyori had a particularly romantic vibe during their part of the performance, so TOP was asked about adding a kiss in, and he had positive responses." He also added that they "originally planned for TOP to kiss Hyori on the forehead, but a few days before the performance, they were asked how it would be if they kissed on the lips. The two professionally agreed on doing this and it was decided that there would be a 'surprise kiss' during the performance."

Because the news about the 'surprise kiss' had not been revealed before the performance, the PDs felt that many people might have gotten the wrong idea. So, pretty much, the kiss was planned, but TOP and Hyori weren't exactly appalled by the idea- in fact, they might have wished it could have been longer. But don't feel bad, girls (and... some boys). Hyori's, what, thirty? And she may be hot now, but she won't be by the time TOP catches up to her age.
