On June 16, Popeye Entertainment stated, "At 7:12 PM KST this evening, actress Yoon So Jung passed away after suffering from septicemia (blood poisoning) at St. Mary's Hospital, The Catholic University in Seoul. We ask for your condolences during this time of mourning."
The funeral proceedings will be held at St. Mary's Hospital on June 17, followed by the burial on June 20.

Yoon So Jung made her debut as a musical actress in 1962 and went on to star in numerous dramas and films. Some of her well-known works include 90s horror film 'The Hole', the historical film 'The King and the Clown', as well as dramas 'Cyrano: Dating Agency,' and 'Cheongdamdong Alice.' Her most recent appearance was in SBS's 'My Sassy Girl'.
