For a recent interview with the Guangzhou Daily, former EXO member Tao broached a number of different topics such as his upcoming concert, what his fans mean to him, and also the slightly sensitive topic of leaving Korea to pursue his career as a solo artist.

Tao was all secretive about what he had prepared for his fans for the concert, revealing as little as possible and keeping an air or mystery. He said, "What do I have in store for the fans? They will find out when that day comes. It's a 90-minute long concert. What 'beautiful' means to me outside of just outward appearance is tenacity, optimism, and persistence," and added, "Fans are like family to me. I hope everyone is happy and lead a healthy life."�

On getting to fulfill his dream of becoming a star, Tao stated, "The key is persistence. To me, I'm just me, not a star. I'm simply trying my hardest to do my best."

The singer also talked about the fans he left behind when he returned to China to pursue a solo career. He admitted, "I think it's become a part of my experience. Life always doesn't work out in your favor. Whether something is fair or not, I think if you are nice and active, then luck will follow."

Tao concluded the interview with what his future plans are, revealing, "Music is what I love the most. I'm studying a lot in between shooting my new film. But the most important thing [to me] is music."�
