Well we knew Kim Hyun Joong was in the process of engaging a civil lawsuit against his former ex-girlfriend, but it turns out he's adding on to that by now filing a criminal suit.

According to legal reps, Kim Hyun Joong's side filed the criminal suit on the 21st, listing blackmail, libel, fraud, and such, while also asking that Ms. Choi be denied permission to leave the country.

Regarding this new lawsuit, his lawyer told Star News, "During the process of Ms. Choi's lawsuit [against Kim Hyun Joong] for 1.6 billion KRW, it was revealed that Choi was never confirmed for her former pregnancy and miscarriage at the hospital she said she went to. Also, it was found that Choi actually told one hospital that she had 'gotten hurt at the health club', while at another hospital she changed her story and said that she was 'assaulted', and got another medical diagnosis report (as proof of Kim Hyun Joong's assault). So we have submitted a lawsuit as it appears that she has lied."

As Choi is currently pregnant and expected to give birth in September, official questioning and investigation by the police will start after she gives birth.

Hearing about this Choi's side vehemently denied the accusations and have stated their intention to countersue with a criminal lawsuit as well.

Meanwhile, the second pre-trial session for Choi's lawsuit against Kim Hyun Joong for 1.6 billion KRW was also held recently on the 22nd.
