After having promised a relay of new songs in the second half of the year yet showing no signs of movement, 2NE1 had been raising a lot of curiosity. However, it finally appears they may be starting their long-awaited activities as it was revealed on November 12 that the girls will be attending this year's MAMA (Mnet Asian Music Awards) despite having had no prior arrangements to this end.

Their previous lack of information about future activities as well as this sudden decision to take part in MAMA are making people speculate that this stage may become a comeback stage for the girls. This guess is becoming very popular, understandably so as the fans have been waiting quite a while for 2NE1's comeback!
The group's fan site had written messages saying it is believed the girls are filming the MV for their new song, making it appear that there may be a high chance of an approaching comeback! People believe that the new song will be revealed next week and immediately afterwards, the girls will have a special comeback stage at the MAMA on November 22.
As YG Entertainment had frequently released a new song without much prior notice, keeping everything on the down low until right before the release, it appears actually quite possible that 2NE1 might have a surprise comeback.
