Before she was an actress,�Jung Ryeo Won used to be a member of pop group Chakra. She revealed that changing careers from singing to acting was very difficult, as she sometimes faced hostility from her peers.
On the January 12th episode of KBS 2TV's 'Happy Together 3', Jung Ryeo Won confessed, "I used to feel like people were so hostile to me when I first started acting. I was told not to wear makeup on set, and then they would pull me aside and touch my face just to make sure."
She continued, "When I offered my opinions like, "Hey director, how about we do it this way?", they would completely ignore me. They would also make me look darker, while the main female lead got a bright reflecting plate."
"It got so bad that one time, the main female actress said to me, 'Unni, don't you have any passion [for the job]?'. When I heard that, I realized I needed to become stronger if I wanted to survive in that industry. I also knew that if I were to ever become the main lead later on, I would be nice to everyone on set."
