Soccer player Hwang Ui Jo's sister-in-law, who previously denied charges of illegal distribution of videos and blackmail, submitted a letter of reflection to the trial judge and confessed to all the crimes.

According to Hankook Ilbo, on February 21, Lee, who was indicted on charges of violating the Sexual Violence Punishment Act, submitted a handwritten letter of reflection to the 31st Criminal Division of the Seoul Central District Court.

Lee initially denied the distribution and blackmail charges, claiming she might have been hacked during the police and prosecution investigations. However, she changed her stance during the court proceedings and admitted to the charges.

In the letter of reflection, Lee admitted, "I committed the crime to teach my brother-in-law a lesson and wanted him to rely on me and his brother again."

Lee said, "Our family, which had a stable life, gave up everything in Korea and devoted ourselves to supporting Hwang Ui Jo's success by staying abroad for 5 yearsBut last year, during the process of returning to his Premier League club, there was friction between my husband and Hwang Ui Jo over disagreements on player management."

She explained, "I felt betrayed because I thought my husband's hard work and dedication was not appreciated at all. I also felt more betrayed because I gave up studying and my dreams because of Hwang Ui Jo. I followed my husband to live abroad and was living a lonely life."

Lee continued, "While managing his private life, I came across a video of Hwang Ui Jo having sexual intercourse with a woman. So I tried to threaten Hwang Ui Jo with the video so that he could rely on us again."

The sister-in-law also emphasized, "I edited the video so that the woman's face, who was looking at the camera, would not be revealed. I never intended to ruin Hwang Ui Jo's life or negatively impact the woman."

She also expressed regret and apologized. Lee said, "I committed an irreparable mistake due to a temporary desire for revenge. If I could turn back time, I would return everything to the way it was without hesitation, even if it meant exchanging my life."

She also wrote, "During the remaining trial process, I will not attempt to minimize or conceal my wrongdoings. I will accept any punishment I receive and offer lifelong apologies to the victims. I am deeply sorry to the women who were harmed."

Hiring family as management seems to be a risk. This reminds me of another case where a guy's brother stole most of his money and his parents tried to get him to drop it.

"I never intended to ruin Hwang Ui Jo's life or negatively impact the woman"... Excuse me? This woman is a couple of sandwiches short of a picnic if she thinks releasing a SEX TAPE isn't going to negatively impact on either of the two people featuring in it. What world does this exceptionally stupid person inhabit?

.

Did she really think she wouldn't get caught? Ugh, I hope karma comes to bite her, hard. He was an arse for recording it in the first place, but she's worse, releasing it to the world and making public something that should always have remained private.
