On June 22, around 2:50 pm KST a sedan slammed into a university hospital in Goyang, Gyeonggi Province, causing the vehicle to plunge into the basement level of the facility.

The vehicle rammed towards the basement level staircase severely injuring two people, Ms. A (48 years old) and Ms. B (45 years old), who were rushed to the emergency room.

Ms. A suffered a broken leg while Ms. B was found collapsed on the stairs.

Firefighters were able to safely rescue the driver Ms. C (51 years old) and a young child (9 years old) riding inside the car.  It has been revealed that the two only suffered minor injuries.

It is reported that Ms. C had decided to go to the hospital for a scheduled check-up when the shocking incident occurred.  The driver was trying to park the vehicle by the front entrance but made a mistake, which led to the accident.

Many people evacuated the crash scene as the vehicle shattered into the hospital's glass doors and destroyed the staircase.

A hospital representative commented, "We are currently taking necessary measures to blockade the entrance way for security purposes."

Police personnel stated, "As of now, the driver is in a state of great shock and is unable to recall any specific moments. We will be investigating the case after speaking with witnesses and examining CCTV footages."

It has also been revealed that the driver had been wearing a brace on her right leg while driving which may have had an impact.

Why did she not just reschedule her appointment or get there by bus or something...She has a leg brace on but still decided to drive. That was just really irresponsible of her...No matter the situation she should've known better than to drive with that brace on. She put that child and so many others in danger with her poor decision.

At least they were close to a hospital.

please don't drive if you don't know how seriously.. Maybe just a 1 off accident but seriously I feel some people shouldn't be allowed to drive and annual testing should be required

There should be check-ups every few years yes.

Go to the hospital to get healed they said, have them look at that bruised wrist they said, now it's freaking broken!

I love everything about my country Korea, but I need to confess that they are giving very easily the driving license to the citizens. You see idols driving drunk and causing an accident and about this lady, she was driving with a brace on her legs! Such irresponsible person, thank God nothing really bad happened!

tgantt94 Wang_Sejung Friday, June 23, 2017

Actually, the driving exam in Korea is really difficult. There are a lot of drunk drivers but in my experience, the Police do a lot of check points to stop drunk drivers and more to discourage drunk driving. Don't get me wrong, it's definitely a problem, but the Korean government is doing what they can to prohibit it and reduce the accidents it causes.

I don't know oppa. But I got my driving licence in Seoul in 2 shot. And believe me I am very intelligent and studying in prestigous Seoul national university. And I respect all the rules, I try driving between the lanes, but it's not the case of everyone! I think the mentality of Koreans for driving needs to be changed. You need to understand while you are driving, you can harm someone and you need to be very very careful!

tgantt94 Wang_Sejung Friday, June 23, 2017

You're right and that's definitely true. There are a lot of reckless drivers here and its scary. I ask my friends all the time how they drive because its just... Scary sometimes. But I think the exam just seems more difficult than in my home state in America. Hopefully all involved are okay.

Is this the same person who ran over AOA's albums?

FragleDagle edurance Saturday, June 24, 2017

This is why you don't run over their albums!

Luckily no one is seriously injured and damn she's lucky that the stairs broke her fall otherwise she would have went straight down and done a nose dive. Also it was stupid of her drive with a caste.

Bearstea Friday, June 23, 2017

Interesting place to build a staircase...

michinpabo Friday, June 23, 2017

On a brighter note.. At least they are already at a hospital.

Thebirth Friday, June 23, 2017

Why is the stairs next to the windows? those windows might have tricked here due to the reflection.

...Anyone who can't see that a window is a window has no place operating heavy machinery.
