Broadcaster Park Na Rae has spoken out regarding multiple allegations surrounding her, amid an ongoing dispute with her former managers, identified as A and B.
On January 14 KST, a local media outlet released an interview with Park Na Rae. The interview was conducted prior to her announcement that she would refrain from making further public statements. Considering the continued allegations from her former managers, the interview was reportedly made public after careful discussion.
Addressing claims of workplace harassment raised by former managers A and B, Park firmly denied the accusations, stating, “I have never done such things, yet they continue to say that I did.”
She also rejected allegations of unpaid wages and delayed reimbursements for work-related expenses. Park explained, “Each manager was issued a corporate credit card with a monthly limit of 50 million won, so there was no possibility of production expenses being delayed.” She added that records showed A and B used approximately 70 million won and 50 million won respectively, saying, “Under those circumstances, it is difficult to understand claims of unpaid expenses.”
Regarding claims of promised salary increases and a 10% incentive, Park stated, “There was never such an agreement from the beginning,” adding that text messages exchanged about salary matters still exist.
Park acknowledged the allegation of proxy prescriptions, admitting that she made such requests on two occasions. She explained, “It was difficult to excuse myself to visit a hospital when production staff and cast were all waiting. I asked twice, and if that constitutes a legal issue, I am prepared to take responsibility and accept any punishment.”
Concerning allegations of embezzlement involving her former boyfriend, Park said, “Although the company had an accounting team, they only handled tax matters and were not involved in bookkeeping or program contract work.” She explained that she entrusted those tasks to her former boyfriend and paid him a regular salary.
Addressing suspicions involving her mother, Park stated, “My mother handles tasks related to two promotional ambassador roles I hold in Mokpo, South Jeolla Province,” adding that “all related records are properly documented.”
Park also spoke about the so-called “late-night meeting,” which was previously described as resolving misunderstandings. She said, “A sent a message in a group chat with lawyers asking, ‘What should I do to restore Na Rae’s reputation?’ and said things had been resolved. Naturally, I believed the matter was settled.”
Regarding a proposed settlement, Park said she could not accept it, explaining, “They asked me to admit that what actually happened was false and to apologize for things that never happened.” She added, “If I did something wrong, I will accept punishment and apologize. But if I did not, I felt it was necessary to set the record straight.”
Park concluded by stating that she possesses evidence supporting her claims, including three years’ worth of messages exchanged with her former managers, and announced plans to pursue legal action.
