2PM member Wooyoung recently spoke candidly about his relationship with JYP Entertainment founder J.Y. Park, highlighting both trust and evolving changes within the company.
On September 10, Wooyoung sat down with reporters at a café in Seoul’s Gangnam district for a round interview marking the release of his third mini album, "I’m into".
Reflecting on his years with the agency, he shared, “As time goes by, my trust and faith in Jinyoung hyung only get stronger—that’s why I renewed my contract. But the amount of direct conversation we have has decreased. Before, there were many talks that felt necessary, but now the system allows things to move forward even when I discuss them with the team right beside me. If I kept trying to always communicate only with higher-ups, I might fall behind.”
He added, “Of course, their opinions eventually come down the line, but if I went to Jinyoung hyung first every time, what would be the point of the staff around me? So I stopped doing that, even if it made him feel disappointed. But actually, he’s always told us, ‘I can’t keep nagging you anymore. Talk to the staff around you more.’”

Wooyoung also addressed J.Y. Park’s recent appointment as co-chairman of the newly launched Public Diplomacy Committee for Popular Culture, announced by the Presidential Office on September 9. The committee was established to strengthen public-private cooperation in spreading Korean culture worldwide through music, dramas, films, and games.
Sharing his reaction, Wooyoung said, “I was shocked. I respect him deeply, but I couldn’t help thinking, ‘How could he make that decision?’ No matter how experienced he is, it takes tremendous courage. As a fan, as someone in the company, and as his junior, I felt nervous just imagining it. I couldn’t even simply say, ‘Congratulations.’ My real thought was, ‘Hyung, are you okay? Weren’t you scared? Weren’t you worried?’” He continued with a laugh, “But looking at how he’s built and sustained this company all these years, I guess he must have the confidence to take it on.”
Meanwhile, Wooyoung’s third mini album "I’m into" is set for release on September 15 at 6 PM KST on various online music platforms.
