An anonymous post has stirred heated debate online after the author claimed they received 8 million KRW (approximately 6200 USD) from the agency of a male actor — allegedly as hush money to cover up a case of double dating.

On July 28, a post titled “My Ex’s Agency Sent Me ₩8 Million” appeared on the Korean anonymous workplace community app, Blind. The writer, identified only as “A,” claimed to be the former partner of actor “A,” who is reportedly preparing to publicly announce his upcoming marriage on an entertainment show.

According to the post, the agency allegedly offered the money in advance, saying the timeline of the relationship “might not look right” once the couple’s wedding preparations air on television. The implication, the writer suggests, was that their relationship with the actor may have overlapped with his current one.

They said they’d be revealing the wedding story on a show soon, and since the dates could seem off, they wanted to send me ₩8 million upfront,” the post stated. “When I asked what exactly they meant, it was implied that the relationship with his current fiancée might appear to have started before we officially broke up. In other words, it was either a rebound or cheating.”

The writer added that they were told the payment was a form of “compensation,” but they chose to reject it, saying, “It’s my right not to accept money that feels like hush money.”

The post did not mention the actor’s real name or the program involved. However, in the comments, the writer hinted, “He’s not a top-tier star, but anyone over 30 would know him by name.”

Online speculation has exploded, with users engaging in a “name-guessing game” based on minimal clues. Some netizens expressed skepticism, asking for evidence such as transaction receipts, while others warned against fueling rumors without proof.

If it’s true, it’s shocking — but there’s no evidence,” one comment read. Another added, “Revealing this without a name helps no one, and could lead to secondary harm.”

As of now, neither the alleged actor nor any management agency has issued a response.
