Lee Jin Wook returns to the small screen this summer as the ultimate boss you both admire and fear.

JTBC’s upcoming weekend drama ‘Esquire: Lawyers Who Dream of Law’ (hereafter ‘Esquire’) is set to premiere on August 2. A newly released teaser highlights Lee Jin Wook’s icy yet charismatic turn as top lawyer Yoon Seok Hoon.

The drama follows Hyo Min (played by Jung Chae Yeon), a righteous and confident yet socially clumsy rookie attorney at law firm Yulrim. She begins to grow as a professional under the mentorship of Yoon Seok Hoon, a brilliant but emotionally distant partner at the firm.

Yoon Seok Hoon is a partner and team leader in Yulrim’s litigation department, known for his logical precision and cold-blooded tactics in court. He draws admiration from colleagues with his track record of wins and polished legal arguments. But his utter lack of small talk and emotional distance make him intimidating to approach.

These traits are on full display in the first teaser. Set to the tagline “I joined the company, and my boss is unbelievable,” the video shows Seok Hoon’s flawless work ethic, punctuality, and tightly controlled routines—all painting a portrait of a perfectionist.

He doesn’t hesitate to put rookies in their place, saying, “Is ‘I’m sorry’ the trend these days?” and “In Anglo-American law, we add ‘ESQ.’ after a lawyer’s name out of respect. If you want to be called that, earn it.” These biting lines reveal his no-nonsense attitude—but also his unwavering commitment to high standards.

Yet amid the sharp remarks, there’s a hint of warmth. “I give due respect to those who fulfill their responsibilities,” he says, hinting at the layered personality beneath the surface: cold on the outside, but with a deep sense of fairness and loyalty.

This teaser has sparked interest in how Yoon Seok Hoon, the flawless yet emotionally guarded boss, will navigate his working relationship with the bumbling yet passionate newcomers. Fans are also eager to see how Lee Jin Wook portrays this complex character with nuance and depth.

The producers shared, “‘Esquire’ is about people healing and growing through lawsuits. The lawyers representing them will also confront their own wounds and mature alongside their clients.” They added, “We hope audiences will connect with the heartfelt stories and unique personalities that shape this legal drama.”
