Dispatch has uncovered the previously unknown details behind the blackmail case involving Son Heung Min. To understand the full picture, it is important to first examine the key figures involved.

A (Ex-Girlfriend): A 29-year-old freelance product model who first met Son Heung Min through a mutual acquaintance. She was also seeing another man in May 2024.

B (Blackmailer): A 41-year-old man with a past conviction for attempted extortion. He has tattoos on his upper body and met A at the end of 2024. He later led a second blackmail attempt.

C (Shaman): A well-known spiritual figure who allegedly predicted A's pregnancy in June. She gained A’s trust and was by her side during an abortion procedure. A also wired 80 million KRW (about $57,396) to her.

According to a recorded conversation between A and B, A had sexual relations with two men during a similar time frame. In the recording:

B: Do you even know whose child it is?

A: How would I know that?

B: Then you should have only told one of them. You should have just gone to either man number one or two.

In their conversation, "man number one" is a businessman, and "man number two" refers to national football team captain Son Heung Min. A informed both of them about the pregnancy. While the businessman did not respond, Son Heung Min did. A sent him medical results indicating an hCG level of 5000 mIU/mL, consistent with a 5 to 6-week pregnancy. However, A herself could not confirm whose child it was. She insisted it was likely Son’s.

In another conversation, B expresses his frustration:

B: You said yourself you contacted both men, right?

A: I told both of them, yes.

B: You told the same story to both men without even knowing whose it was. That is marriage fraud. That’s why I have a headache. I don’t know what to make of this.

This case is not as complex as it may seem. It began with a relationship between Son Heung Min and A, resulting in an unplanned pregnancy. A asked for 300 million (about $215,249), and Son agreed.

On June 22, A took a pregnancy test and notified Son about the result. Two days later, she visited an OB-GYN, which confirmed a 5 to 6-week pregnancy. On June 24, A met with Son and his female manager. Having already decided to terminate the pregnancy, A told them, both via text and in person, that her position would not change. She confirmed the deposit had been made and underwent the abortion on June 25.

After that, there was no further contact between them. Their relationship ended quietly, until B entered the picture and turned everything upside down.

B met A through shaman C in December 2024. By January, B claims they were in a relationship and were planning to get married. 

He contacted Dispatch, stating that he had authority from A to speak on her behalf.

He said, "I was about to get married, then I found a confidentiality agreement on A's phone. The penalty clause was ten times the compensation. That’s too one-sided. Give me 20 million KRW (about $14,350), and I’ll hand over the evidence."

B used a similar strategy to approach Son’s side. He claimed, "Son got my fiancée pregnant. I can’t marry her because of the unfair contract." He later demanded 70 million KRW (about $50,224) in exchange for not exposing the story to the press.

Son's side did not respond. If A had stayed silent, nothing would have happened. B then approached Dispatch and threatened to expose the confidentiality agreement.

After being told the agreement would not be changed, B switched tactics. He offered to hand over evidence and encouraged Son’s team to sue A for fraud. In return, he asked for 70 million KRW (about $50,224).

A representative from Son’s side said, "B suddenly sent us phone calls and text messages he had exchanged with A, claiming he had spent 80 million KRW (about $57,400) silencing A and C. Then he asked us for 70 million KRW (about $50,224)."

That’s when the truth came out. A had been seeing two men during the same period and could not confirm who the father was. She had asked for 300 million KRW (about $215,250) and quickly went through with the abortion. These facts stunned Son's team.

This situation mirrors the kind of probability calculations familiar to Korean football fans. Both men mentioned by A had a chance of being the father, but only Son responded to her.

Son entered Korea on May 23, 2024, for World Cup qualifiers. A was in Japan with the other man at that time. She returned to Korea on May 30 and contacted Son. The two had a brief window between May 31 and June 1 to meet, as Son departed for a game in Singapore on June 2.

This timeline supports B’s frustration. In a recorded conversation, he criticized A, asking how she could tell the same pregnancy story to both men when she was unsure who the father was.

Dispatch tracked A’s movements. She placed heavy trust in shaman C. They were together during the pregnancy test, the abortion decision, and even when she informed Son.

A sent 80 million KRW (about $57,411) to C, spending 30 million KRW (about $21,530) on three rituals. She gave another 25 million KRW (about $17,940) as a gift to the “Great Spirit” and deposited another 25 million KRW (about $17,940) into a gold frog piggy bank. After the abortion, A and C were seen shopping for luxury items at Galleria Department Store.

According to B’s records, A spent 9.95 million KRW ($7,141), 6.3 million KRW (about $4,523), and 2.6 million KRW (about $1,866) at luxury stores. She also moved into a new apartment with a deposit of 50 million KRW (about $35,900) and spent a large sum on electronics and furniture. Most of the money was used within a year.

Dispatch eventually managed to speak with C. She denied any involvement in the second blackmail attempt and stated, "I want to clear up the misunderstanding. Since then, A has focused on her work and never brought up Son again."

Still, questions remain. Dispatch secured secret conversations between A and B. In one, A asked for changes to the confidentiality agreement. In another, B suggested buying an apartment with the settlement money.
